2009 Toyota Matrix 5dr Wgn Auto FWD (Natl)

Turn errands into mini-adventures in this **red 2009 Toyota Matrix** hatchback—a practical little shape-shifter that’s always ready to roll. Under the hood is a **1.8L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder with VVT-i**, running on **gasoline** and driving the **front wheels** for an easy, confidence-building feel around town. With responsive **electric power-assisted steering**, it stays light in parking lots and steady on the move, while the independent front suspension, torsion-beam rear setup, and stabilizer bars help keep things composed when the road gets twisty.

The hatchback design is where the Matrix really shines. Pop the rear hatch and you’ll find a cargo area built for real life—complete with anti-slip trim and a **tonneau cover** to keep things tidy. Need more room? The **60/40 split rear seat** folds down, and the **front passenger seat folds flat**, making it surprisingly accommodating for bulky gear, weekend hauls, or that “I wasn’t planning to buy this” stop at the store.

Up front, the cabin keeps things sensible and comfortable: **air conditioning with air filtration**, a **tilt/telescoping steering wheel**, helpful **Optitron gauges** with an outside temperature display and trip meters, and the kind of storage and cupholders that make daily driving easier. Plug in your playlist through the **auxiliary audio input**, settle into the driver’s seat with its height adjuster, and enjoy the simple satisfaction of a vehicle designed to just work.

On the safety side, this Matrix brings peace of mind with **4-wheel ABS** with electronic brake distribution and brake assist, **daytime running lights**, a **direct tire pressure monitor**, side-impact protection, and a full set of airbags (front, seat-mounted side, and side curtain). There’s also an **anti-theft engine immobilizer** onboard.

And when you’re ready to learn more about its past, a **CARFAX report is available** for this vehicle.
